description of organisation
The C. S. Lewis Bilingual High School has been founded in 2004 in Bratislava. Since 2009 we have hosted 6 young volunteers in cooperation with Ecumenical Council of Churches in Slovakia (ECCSR). The volunteers are coming to our school usually for 11 months.
The school provides a 5 year bilingual program of English language, has 5 grades and 2 classes in each. There are 251 students in the school. Beside intense English study there is also a possibility to learn Spanish and German. The students are at age of 15 to 19, 20.
The director of the school is leading the school and the education activities. The management of school includes beside the director 3 senior teachers responsible for some part of the organization and a deputy director for support processes. There are 18 full-time teachers and 16 part time teachers and 10 non-pedagogical employees. Three native English teachers and 2 Spanish teachers are part of the teachers team. The deputy director is responsible for the support activities (economy, administration, building, maintenance etc).
On the top of the organization there is a president of the High School who is a representative of the funder of the school, the church. He is the member of the board of governors. The Board of governors is leading the school and consists of 5 members, some of them are parents of the students and experts on education.
