The Health Insurance System in Turkey

General Health Insurance System and Foreigners

A system of General Health Insurance is implementing in Turkey since 2012. Most foreigfners with a residence permit and living permanently at least one year in Turkey must take compulsory monthly payments if they haven't got any insurance from their home state. The monthly payments usally depende on the country of foreigner but it is approximately 200 TL each month.

There is also private healthcare system in Turkey if patient wouldn't prefer to wait for doctor and would like to be treated by private hospitals. It is not mandatory to entroll general health insurance for foreigners however it is compulsory for Turkish citizens.
