Get Up, Stand Up: Stand Up For Your Health

The project named “Get Up, Stand Up: Stand Up For Your Health” is a project which was organised under the frame of Youth in Action Programme (sub 1.1 youth exchanges) by the grant of Turkish National Agency.

The project named “Get Up, Stand Up: Stand Up For Your Health” is a project which was organised under the frame of Youth in Action Programme (sub 1.1 youth exchanges) by the grant of Turkish National Agency. The event took place between the dates 25.11.2011 and 02.12.2011 in ESKISEHIR/TURKEY. The partner countries of the project were Turkey, Ireland, Italy, Romania and Poland. From each organization 5 Participants and 1 Group Leader between the ages 18-25 involved in to the project. The project was organized by Peer Educators Community which is an informal group in Eskisehir / Turkey. If we sum up the project shortly; participants of the project got chance to learn more about not only volunteerism but also sexually transmitted infections (Especially Hiv/Aids).Moreover, on 1st December World Aids Day participants designed some fliers, posters etc. to inform local people about health (especially Hiv/Aids) and split them out in Eskisehir  voluntarily. During the activities participants got to know each other better not only in terms of personality but also in terms of cultural background. Thanks to the activities reflecting common European values, participants got chance to raise awareness about European identity and European citizenship. Non Formal Learning Methods were implemented during the project dates.

The objectives of the Project were:

To learn more about volunteerism and sexually transmitted infections

To raise awareness about volunteerism and sexually transmitted infections

To organise some innovative activities for 1st December World Aids Day 2011

To promote mutual understanding and tolerance among young people from different cultures and help to stop discrimination towards people who infected Hiv.
