What is necessary
It is essential to collect information, in the country of origin, at the Portuguese Embassy or Consulate on the documents to be submitted in Portugal.
Nationals of the European Union, as well as nationals of Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, don’t need a visa to enter Portugal or to study here.
Applicants holding foreign qualifications
Foreign students can apply to higher education in Portugal and to this effect, satisfy the same conditions as required for Portuguese students;
Holders of foreign qualifications must apply equivalence to the 12th grade, at a secondary school with pedagogical autonomy;
Students who have been registered and enrolled in a higher education institution abroad may request a change of course or transfer.
