Session of Children and Youth Parliament
In order to qualify for the participation in the session of children and youth Parliament, students of lower and upper secondary schools had a task to complete. In two-man groups they had to organise a debate at their schools, draw a report from it and post it on the competition website. Authors of the best reports were selected for children's and youth Parliament.
The first session of the young parliament was held in 1994. Since then, regular sessions are held on June 1, on the international children’s day. The participants expand their knowledge on the work of the Parliament and while competing for the participation are committed to work on behalf of their schools and local communities.
Children and Youth Parliament is an initiative of the Chancellery of the Polish Parliament organised together with Centrum Edukacji Obywatelskiej (Centre for Civic Education), the Ministry of National Education, and Centre for Education Development.
Poland was the first country in Europe to present such an initiative for young people.
