Erasmus with a Definite Plus!
The new programme offers much more than the previous Erasmus; a totally new, different quality. It is addressed not only to students, but to everyone. The new Erasmus+ programme implemented in the years 2014-2020 has replaced former educational programmes of the EU, to mention Erasmus, Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci, Grundtvig and Youth in Action. As a result, all the functions have been combined and centralised, which makes things easier and faster.
You can apply for co-financing under the Erasmus+ programme only via institutions and organisations. This means that an individual John Smith cannot enter a call for proposals, he needs to find a strong group, which will work on his idea and implement a project. And what ideas stand a chance of being funded by Brussels?
The Erasmus+ programme has been divided into three key actions:
- Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals (youth exchanges, European Voluntary Service, training/seminars/placements and other actions for youth workers);
- Key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices (including new initiatives: Strategic Partnerships and Capacity Building in the field of Youth);
- Key Action 3: Support for policy reform.
The awesome innovation under Erasmus+ are loan guarantees for students wishing to study abroad, which will help them fund the whole study period under very favourable conditions. And last, but not least: no more paperwork! You will no longer need to fill in tedious paper forms, or write applications by hand. The whole application process is conducted online. It will be more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly.
It is difficult to briefly describe such a comprehensive programme, but important information is such that you need to learn more, be active, and you can surely benefit from it.
This chance is too good to miss, and you can easily become one of four million!
