Organised by the European Youth Press in collaboration with the European Parliament on October 15-17 in Brussels, the European Youth Media Days is one of the biggest events in Europe dedicated to young journalists.
You can apply to be one of the 120 young journalists that will be reporting from the European Parliament on topics such as: Social movements, new political parties and civil society protests - what is in the future of the European Union (EU)? Who is working to ensure change and sustainability of the Union? What has been the actual impact of #Occupy and other movements on the policy-makers in Europe?
As a participant you will experience three days of media workshops, political discussions, hands-on media production and invaluable insights into the European Parliament and European media. You will interact with high-level European politicians, professional journalists and experts and engage in intercultural exchange through practical media production. Each young journalist will work with peers to produce a report on the topic of the seminar through your medium of choice - video, photo, radio, print or multimedia.
Young journalists aged between 18 and 30 who are citizens or legal residents of an EU Member State can apply until 23 August 2013. Young journalists from any other countries can also participate at their own costs. To find out how to apply check the call for participants.
You can also join the event as part of the voluntary organisation team, giving you a significant insight into the world of media and politics at European level. You will also have the chance to build a European-wide network of contacts and gain project management skills. Keep in mind that you will have to be available online since the moment you are chosen to be part of the team. Working journalists (aged between 18 and 30) and citizens or legal residents of one of the EU Member States can apply until 1 August 2013. To find out how to apply check the call for team.
