As a young artist, the UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries Programme provides you with experience and helps you complete your training in another country, enabling you to develop as a person and to take part in intercultural dialogue and activities.
Who can apply?
If you are a young artist between 25 and 35 years of age working in the fields of music, visual arts or creative writing, you can apply for a residency for 1 to 3 months. These three fields cover artistic specialisations that drive the creative industries, in particular the recording industries, the organisation of concerts, the audiovisual sector, graphic design and publishing.
How to apply?
You should apply directly to the institution you're interested in, depending on the discipline and/or country sought, and make sure you meet all the requirements. The institutions pre‑select candidates, and be aware that the programme gives priority to artists and institutions in developing countries, in order to enhance North-South and South-North cooperation.
Be aware of deadlines!
The deadlines to apply for each UNESCO-Aschberg bursary vary from one institution to another, but the majority close between mid-October and mid-November. You can find out the exact dates by checking your specific residency of interest. Keep in mind that you can only submit one application per year and that you can only take part in the programme once.
