Youth Guarantee - Youth Employment

A guarantee against youth unemployment

The Youth Guarantee ensures that all young people under 25 get a good-quality, concrete offer within 4 months of leaving school or becoming unemployed.

To fight youth unemployment, the Youth Guarantee states that the offer should be for a job, apprenticeship, traineeship, or to continue in education and it should be adapted to each person's needs and situation.

To make sure the Youth Guarantee is developed and put into place, there needs to be a strong cooperation between all those involved (public authorities, employment services, education & training institutions, business, employers, trade unions, etc.). With the support of the European Commission, EU countries are developing their own national Youth Guarantee Implementation Plans.
