Get European recognition for your project
To apply you should be 16-30 years old and a citizen or resident of one of the 28 member states of the European Union. You apply by yourself or in a group, but keep in mind that if your group project is multinational it can only be submitted in one country. You can apply until 20 January 2014, via the European Charlemagne Youth Prize website or the national Information Offices of the European Parliament.
The winner of the European Charlemagne Youth Prize will be selected in a two-step process:
1. national juries select one national winner from each of the 28 member states by 3 March 2014.
2. the European jury, consisting of three MEPs and the President of the European Parliament and four representatives of the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen will select the winner from the 28 projects submitted by national juries by 17 April 2014.
The prize for the best project is €5000, the second, €3000 and the third, €2000 and their representatives will be invited to visit the European Parliament in Brussels or Strasbourg in the autumn of 2014. Representatives of all 28 national winning projects will be invited to the Charlemagne Youth Prize award ceremony in Aachen on 27 May 2014.
