Structured Dialogue


What has happened so far?

Structured dialogue and its outcomes over the years: in order for you to better understand the Structured Dialogue, you could have a look at the past cycles and how their outcomes were used to enrich EU policies with youth voices.

Structured Dialogue cycle I (1 January 2010 – 30 June 2011) - “Youth Employment”

The first cycle of the Structured Dialogue focused on the over-arching theme of "Youth employment", with each phase building on the outcomes of the previous Presidency; the three Presidencies that hosted the EU Youth Conferences were Hungary, Belgium and Spain. An overview of the first cycle of Structured Dialogue may be found in this Compendium published by the Youth Department of the Ministry of National Resources in Hungary.

 

Outcomes

At the end of this 18-month cycle of the Structured Dialogue, the Council of the European Union adopted aCouncil Resolution highlighting the major recommendations from the process.

 

Structured Dialogue cycle II (1 July 2011 - 31 December 2012) – “Youth participation in democratic life in Europe”

The second cycle of the Structured Dialogue focused on the over-arching thematic priority of "Youth participation in democratic life in Europe", with each of the Presidency countries (Cyprus, Denmark and Poland Presidencies) deciding on their own specific priorities:

 

Outcomes 

At the end of this 18 month cycle of the Structured Dialogue, the Council of the European Union adopted aCouncil Resolution highlighting the major recommendations from the process.

 

Structured Dialogue cycle III (1 January 2013 - 30 June 2014) – “Social Inclusion”

The third cycle of the Structured Dialogue is currently on its final phase: the thematic priority for this cycle is "Social  inclusion of young people across Europe", with the Ireland, Lithuania and Greece Presidencies participating. The joint recommendations will provide an input for the drafting of the Council Resolutions on social inclusion and youth entrepreneurship.
