A National Park is a natural and cultural high value natural area, which is considered of general interest for its natural heritage value and exceptional biodiversity, due to its unique flora, fauna or geomorphological formations, which receives special attention and conservation.
However, this conservation is not incompatible with the enjoyment of these parks, and all of them have adapted infrastructures in order to allow the accessibility for people who want to get into the parks. Also you can carry out a wide range of activities, depending on the Park: hiking, guided tours, ride a bike, bird watching, etc. Before you dive into a National Park, you can consult the Central Reservation [https://www.reservasparquesnacionales.es/real/parquesnac/index.aspx] that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment offers you, and you can consult all the activities you can do in each of the parks. If you want to do any of the proposed activities, you must request permission via this website (reserves), or in person at the Office of the National Park.
Even for those who not only want to make some sporadic activity, but want to contribute to the improvement of the management of the parks, there are volunteer programs, http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/red-parques -national / program-volunteers / either contacting NGOs that are organizing work camps into Nationals Parks or individually, if you want to collaborate on environmental tasks.
Moreover, there are research programs for researchers, http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/red-parques-nacionales/programa-investigacion/ to improve scientific knowledge of these areas and contribute to the improvement of its environmental protection.
The network is composed by 15 parks, [http://www.magrama.gob.es/es/red-parques-nacionales/nuestros-parques/default.aspx] spread throughout the peninsula and islands. If you visit any of these areas, a very good option is to search and visit the closest national park.
