Become involved in an international organization and get closer to nature
Do you feel like climbing Czech rocks or dancing on Hungarian meadows? The International Young Naturefriends (IYNF) organization unites Young Naturefriends from all over Europe. IYNF was established in 1975 and as of today has 19 member organizations. IYNF accepts new European volunteers, organizes trainings and international youth exchanges. Their activities consist mostly of activities in the nature, amateur art work and environmental education. Look at their web and learn more. IYNF’s mission is to connect and inspire. Thanks to IYNF, you might experience a piece of Europe from the saddle of your bike or a climbing rope in an international group.
If you would like to become a part of IYNF for a longer time period, you should know that the Prague office regularly accepts new volunteers within the European Voluntary Service (EVS). And if you want to do something from the comfort of your home, you might be interested in IYNF’s Green Toolbox. This free manual aims at inspiring and supporting organizations in sustainable work methods and project leadership.
Is it still too far away from the woods and hills? Naturefriends, one of the biggest NGOs in the world and one that is connected with IYNF, runs a database of over a thousand houses in nature. Naturefriends houses are open to everyone, they are ecological, accessible and offer reasonable prices.
Do you want to get even closer? Dip your hands in soil and then lie down in the grass. This is what the international network of ecological farms WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) aims at. Sustainable ways of life, learning, sharing, working and new experiences all over the world. If this sounds good to you, do not hesitate and find a farmer that will provide you with food and housing in exchange for your work. Opportunities, sheep and patches are waiting for you in the Czech Republic too.
