International traineeships for apprentices and young workers

You are learning or you have learnt a trade and want to acquire new working methods and techniques? You want to improve your foreign language skills? Get to know other countries and cultures?

Then a foreign work placement might be just the right thing for you!

The association International Young Workers Exchange (Internationaler Fachkräfteaustausch  – IFA) provides services and guidance for apprentices and young skilled workers as well as their companies in relation to work placements and traineeships abroad.

IFA

  • supports you with writing your application
  • supports you with preparing and organising the stay abroad
  • provides grants for the placement
  • ensures that you get the right documentation for your work experience

IFA facilitates foreign work placements for about 500 apprentices, students of VET schools, and young skilled workers in another European country per year. These traineeships are mostly supported by funding from the EU’s Lifelong Learning programme (Leonardo).
