The University of Luxembourg is a quite new establishment with a fast expanding status. It’s divided in three different campuses throughout the city Limpertsberg, Kirchberg and Walferdange; a new campus is being prepared in Esch-Belval, south of Luxembourg City and it will be operational from summer 2014 onwards.
Take a look on how the new Campus in Esch-Belval will look like.
The first important thing to note down is the multilingualism of the university: most of the academic courses are combining modules in French, German and English, or at least two of these languages, with English being a must, so one has to know or be willing to learn and adapt to the use of those languages in an academic level.
What can you study in this multilingual university? Undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate courses, as well as a lot of research posts are being offered to foreign students by three different faculties, namely: Law, Economics and Finance, Science, Technology and Communication and Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education.
Just like in Germany and in France, higher education in Luxembourg is free, which means that students pay for their inscription, the lodging and their personal expenses, but are not asked to pay considerate amounts of money for their tuition.
