Definition

It is never too late to learn”, as a European Union communication on adult learning proclaims. Lifelong learning is the "ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated" (Department of Education and Science (2000). Learning for Life: White Paper on Adult Education. Dublin: Stationery Office) pursuit of knowledge for either personal or professional reasons. Therefore, it not only enhances social inclusion, active citizenship and personal development, but also competitiveness and employability.

Many taught modules are offered to adults in various languages: it can be French, English, German or some other. The Luxembourg State facilitates adult learning and you can be eligible even to follow a course and get paid for your time off work.
