Aktivní občanství - Strukturovaný dialog - european(eu)

Now in its second cycle, the Structured Dialogue with young people has become an established process for participatory policymaking in the youth field among the 27 EU Member States. The Structured Dialogue is a space for young people and policy makers to discuss and feed into EU youth policy at national and European level together, as well as a tool to ensure that youth policy meets the needs and expectations of young people across Europe. It takes the form of national consultations at Member State level and EU Youth Conferences at European level.

The Structured Dialogue on youth participation in democratic life
The current 18 month cycle of the Structured Dialogue is built around the theme of youth participation in democratic life and divided into three sub-themes linked to the national priorities of the EU Presidency countries Poland, Denmark, and Cyprus in the field of youth policy: Poland, Youth and the World; Denmark, Creativity and Innovation; and Cyprus, Social inclusion.

2011: (EU) Political Outcomes: Council conclusions on promoting youth employment to achieve the Europe 2020 objectives

The conclusions stress that long spells of unemployment, inactivity or benefit dependency at an early stage of a working life can have significant negative effects on the whole future working career. Therefore youth unemployment and extended inactivity need to be prevented and tackled as a top priority.

2012: (EU) Political Outcomes: Council Resolution on the overview of the structured dialogue with young people on youth participation in democratic life in Europe

The Ministers responsible for Youth from all the 27 EU Member States adopted, in November 2012, a Council Resolution that puts forward proposals to enhance youth participation from the joint recommendations made during the 18 months of dialogue between young people and policy makers. The Resolution also sets concrete proposals for the further development of the structured dialogue process.

2012: National Youth Councils' seminar evaluating the second cycle of Structured Dialogue

Representatives of EU National Youth Councils discussed the EU structured dialogue process at the seminar organised in October 2012 by the Cyprus Youth Council. Upon assessing the progress of the structured dialogue at the end of its second work cycle, the National Youth Councils' representatives formulated a set of recommendations for the improvement and further development of the process.

2012: Video report of the National Youth Councils' seminar on Structured Dialogue

Invited by the Cyprus Youth Council, representatives of National Youth Councils gathered in October 2012 in Limassol, Cyprus, to discuss the EU structured dialogue process. The seminar saw the participants evaluating the second cycle of the structured dialogue from the perspective of the EU National Youth Councils and presenting good practices followed by the National Working Groups.
