If you have obtained your professional qualification out of the EU, you should check with responsible authority whether you can apply for the recognition of your professional qualifications.

If you wish to work as a physiotherapist in Latvia on a permanent basis you will have to submit the following documents:

Copy of identity document
Application
Documents on physiotherapist’s education and professional qualification
Documents from home country on rights to pursue profession and certificate of good standing
Documents on work experience

Duration of the procedure [permanent stay]

The duration of the recognition procedure is:

1 month to acknowledge receipt of your application and request any documents they need.
4 months to take a decision after reception of all necessary documents.

Declaration on temporary services
Copy of identity document
Documents from home country on rights to pursue profession
Documents on physioterapist education and professional qualification
Documents on 2 years work experience within last 10 years if profession is not regulated in home country
