Manual on how to use the EUR-Lex advanced search
EUR-Lex is an online service providing direct free access to EU law and other public EU documents in the 24 official languages of the Union.
The Your Europe Business portal regularly signposts users to various related documents available on the EUR-Lex website.
Even if a new EU regulation has not yet entered into force, you can still know the dates when its provisions will become applicable.
The aim of this Manual is to facilitate the use of the advanced search feature in EUR-Lex in order to find information on the application date of current and upcoming provisions introduced by EU regulations.
Regulations are adopted either jointly by the Council of the European Union and European Parliament or by the Commission alone (delegated and implementing regulations). They do not need to be transposed into national legislation and are directly applicable in all Member States. Companies have to comply with legal requirements. Hence it is important for them to know the exact dates from which on new provisions are applicable.
