As the patent owner, to validate a European patent in Romania you have to:
- Provide the Romanian Patent Office (OSIM) with a Romanian translation of the patent specification and pay the statutory publication fee, within 3 months of the date on which the European patent is published in the European Patent Bulletin.
Should you fail to supply the translation within 3 months, you can still file the translation with OSIM within a further 3-month period, provided that you pay an additional fee.
- OSIM will publish the Romanian translation of the specification of the European patent in its Official Industrial Property Bulletin.
- OSIM must certify that a European patent is valid in Romania.
