Every company must provide statistics.

Statistical bodies

In the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Central Service for Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) is responsible for statistical information, using surveys, on the country's structure and activities. STATEC must comply with requirements on statistical confidentiality.

Types of statistics

The STATEC has a list of different surveys for which employers may be called upon to supply information.

Any company trading goods with other EU Member States must provide the required statistical information to the competent national institution.

Submitting statistics

The schedule of surveys gives the dates on which surveys of businesses took place.

Entrepreneurs can find explanatory notes and questionnaires on the STATEC web site.

Resources

             STATEC offers various services through its information office, library, website 'Economic and social portrait of Luxembourg' and seminars.

The Luxembourg statistical portal gives companies online access to statistical information in various forms (publications, press releases and statistical tables).

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) also provides a statistical profile of Luxembourg on its website.
