New ideas - Poland

Updated 11/2010

Legal requirements

Supporting investments with innovative technological solutions that are implemented by businesses using public funds is possible thanks to the Act on Some Forms of Support for Innovative Activity.  The Act facilitates the implementation of new technologies by offering special technology bonuses as part of technology credits that are offered by commercial banks as well as tax relief of half the value of the acquired technology.

Alongside innovation, access to R&D is essential for businesses to develop and stay competitive.

Intellectual property must be protected to encourage innovation.

Resources

Information on the implementation and use of new technologies can be found in the Entrepreneurship section on the website of the Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Programmes

The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) implements programmes aimed at the development of innovative projects and enterprises. In addition, it supervises the activity of the National Innovation Network as part of the National System of Services for SMEs.
