There will be three award categories and each category winner will receive an award recognising his/her achievement, a £250 individual prize, plus £1,500 for the nominating organisation (i.e. the one they volunteer in).
“Mindful of 2011 being the European Year of the Volunteer, we're hoping our 2011 Volunteer Awards will help encourage people to support and recognise all of Britain's outstanding volunteers. We'll be promoting this initiative via a wide range of channels and networks, so that we can ensure as many people as possible are made aware of these awards, and so more volunteers are recognised.”
Nominations will close on 28 January a2011 and the celebration will take place in late March to make the Awards to the successful nominees.
