The objective is to increase the visibility, dissemination and impact of documents produced by the members and which could be used as an input in other expert/scientific advice processes.
Sinapse e-Communities
The Communities module enables members with a common interest (a specific issue, a scientific or policy domain of expertise, etc.) to create a permanent platform for sharing and exchanging information. The communities offer various communication tools and a powerful notification system.
Sinapse Calendar
The Calendar is designed to increase the visibility and publicity about events organised by the members and which are compatible with SINAPSE objectives.
EC Consultations
This tool enables the EU Commission to support existing scientific consultation mechanisms, such as committee meetings. Scientific opinions, advice or background information in specific areas of expertise will be gathered with the help of the network's members.
Sinapse Web Search
Once operational this module will offer the possibility to perform thematic and focused searches in the members' websites. One of the main objectives is to increase the visibility of these information sources.
Early Warning System
This module gives the scientific community and other stakeholders the possibility to send early-warning signals and raise awareness on science-related issues.
Who's Who & Yellow Pages
SINAPSE intends to become a repository of organisations and individuals who have an expertise which can support policy making processes.
SINAPSE is a web communication platform offering tools to promote a better use of expertise in EU policy making and governance (networking of advisory bodies, support to expert groups, ad-hoc/public consultations and e-debates, etc.). SINAPSE is a free public service of the European Commission.
SINAPSE in particular allows the creation of "e-Communities" which enables groups of members and organisations with a common interest to share and exchange information in a dedicated environment which can be graphically personalised and linked to the initiator website.
