Tribute to Wisława Szymborska
Androulla Vassiliou, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, has paid tribute to Wisława Szymborska, the Polish Nobel Prize-winning poet who died in Krakow yesterday.
"Wisława Szymborska belongs in the pantheon of the world's greatest poets and essayists. Her work illuminated the culture and history of Poland for decades and was appreciated throughout the world."
