Commissioner Hahn welcomes the updated list of EU co-funded priority projects in Greece
Brussels, 29 November 2011 - Following a meeting on 28 November between European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn and the governors of the Greek regions and mayors of the main cities in Greece, an updated list of priority projects to be co-funded by the European Commission was presented. These are high-quality projects with a strong added value which will create much needed economic growth and new jobs in all Greek regions. The aim is to use the EU structural funds in the most optimal way and invest EU money where positive results and the economic and social impact will be achieved rapidly, where the competitiveness of Greek companies will be strengthened and where people can find employment. The list of projects will be updated regularly.
Together with the Task Force for Greece, the re-focused projects funded by structural funds are parts of the Commission's comprehensive assistance to Greece in tackling its difficult economic and social situation.
