Message of congratulation by President Barroso to Mr. Vlad Filat, Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova

This is a critical moment for your country. Following the mandate that you have been given by the Moldovan Parliament, I am looking forward to your pursuing the needed political and economic reforms which will bring your country closer to the EU.
With this in mind, you can count on the European Commission’s continued support in dealing with the difficult challenges ahead, for the benefit of the Moldovan citizens.
