February 2013: Business Climate Indicator increases in February
In February 2013, the Business Climate Indicator (BCI) for the euro area increased by 0.36 points to 0.73. The assessment of current order books (overall and export), production expectations and past production improved significantly. The assessment of the adequacy of stocks of finished products remained virtually unchanged.
The BCI is based on a factor analysis of the euro area aggregate balances (seasonally adjusted) of five of the monthly questions in the industry survey (only employment and selling-price expectations are excluded).
The next BCI results are due to be published on 27 March 2013.
