GVO : EU-Kommissar Dalli erörtert sozio-ökonomische Aspekte mit den Hauptbeteiligten

Brüssel, 14. Oktober 2011 – Am 18. Oktober 2011 veranstaltet die Europäische Kommission unter dem Vorsitz von EU-Kommissar John Dalli eine Konferenz in Brüssel zum Thema „sozioökonomische Aspekte des GVO-Anbaus“.

Der für Gesundheit und Verbraucherpolitik zuständige EU-Kommissar John Dalli hat bereits mehrfach erklärt, dass er sich einem aktiven und transparenten Dialog mit allen an GVO interessierten Parteien verpflichtet fühlt.

Vor diesem Hintergrund hat er seine Dienststellen beauftragt, eine Reihe von Anhörungen zu diesem Thema zu organisieren, um Vertreter der Mitgliedstaaten, Mitglieder des Europäischen Parlaments (MEP), Vertreter aus Nicht-EU-Ländern, Nichtregierungsorganisationen und Interessenträger aus der Wirtschaft zu einem Meinungsaustausch an einen Tisch zu bringen.

Die erste Veranstaltung dieser Reihe fand am 17. März 2011 statt und war ein Erfolg. Im Mittelpunkt stand das Thema „GVO-Risikobewertung und ‑management“.

Auf dieser zweiten Veranstaltung beabsichtigt die Kommission, die komplexe Frage der sozialen und wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen des GVO-Anbaus zu behandeln. Vorausgegangen war am 15. April 2011 die Veröffentlichung eines Kommissionsberichts zu diesem Thema.

Die Konferenz wird am 18. Oktober 2011 in Brüssel stattfinden. Alle Beteiligten werden die Möglichkeit haben, ihre Meinungen zu äußern.
