The Commission authorised today an Austrian scheme which intends to encourage the development of combined transport by supporting the introduction of innovative technologies, systems and equipment.
The scheme is financed from the State budget. Subsidies will be granted for the purchase of innovative technologies, systems and equipment as well as for the carrying out of feasibility studies. The maximum aid intensity is 30% in the case of innovative technologies and equipment and 50% in the case of feasibility studies.
The scheme will be in place until 31 December 2014 with a budget of 24 million Euros.
The Commission found the scheme to be compatible with Article 87 (3) (c) of the EC Treaty.
