Koolide virtuaalse eTwinning-partnerlusega on juba liitunud 35 000 kooli

eTwinning on ELi algatus, mille eesmärk on õhutada koole omavahel suhtlema Interneti vahendusel. Alates algatuse käivitamisest kolm aastat tagasi on sellega ühinenud 35 000 kooli. eTwinningi konverentsil 14.–16. mail Bukarestis annab komisjon kätte autasud kaheksale silmapaistvale eTwinningi kooliprojektile.

eTwinning sai alguse jaanuaris 2005 ja sellest ajast alates on algatusega ühinenud enam kui 35 000 kooli üle kogu Euroopa. Nüüdseks on algatus saanud osaks Comeniuse meetmest elukestva õppe programmi raames, mis on peamine komisjoni poolt rahastatav haridusalane programm. eTwinning võimaldab koolidel Internetti kasutades tasuta leida partnereid koostööprojektideks. 2008. aastal suunatakse tähelepanu projektidelt on-line keskkondadele, mis lisaks projektitööle hõlmavad veel vastastikust teadmistevahetust ja arutelupaneelides osalemist.

Sel aastal toimub eTwinningi konverents 14.–16. märtsil Bukarestis. Osalejaid on üle 400, nende hulgas õpetajaid üle kogu Euroopa, eTwinningi kesk- ja riigitasandi tugikeskuste esindajaid ja muid hariduselus osalevaid huvitatud isikuid.

Konverentsi eel, selgitades eTwinning-algatuse tähtsust, lausus Euroopa Komisjoni hariduse, koolituse, kultuuri ja noorsooküsimuste volinik Ján Figel’ järgmist: „Selles programmis on suurepäraselt ühendatud teiste kultuuride tundmaõppimine ja info- ja sidetehnoloogia kasutamine. Kümneid tuhandeid Euroopa koole hõlmava virtuaalse partnerluse kaudu aitab eTwinning lastel teha tutvust arvutitega ning ka kaas-eurooplastega, aidates seeläbi kaasa paremale üksteisemõistmisele. Käesoleval kultuuridevahelise dialoogi aastal 2008 on eTwinningi see aspekt eriti tervitatav.”

Konverentsi tähtsündmuseks on auhinnatseremoonia, kus antakse üle auhinnad kaheksale parimale 2006–2007 õppeaasta eTwinning-projektile. Auhinnakategooriaid on neli: kolm vanuse järgi (4–10, 11–15 ja 16–19) ja üks loodusteaduste ja matemaatika alal.

Hindamiseks esitati üle 400 projekti ja neid hinnati uuenduslikkuse, õppekavaga kokkusobivuse, koostöötaseme, loovuse ning kogemusliku potentsiaali põhjal. Kaheksa finaali jõudnud projektiga olid hõlmatud 26 kooli 17 riigist (Belgia, Eesti, Hispaania, Itaalia, Kreeka, Leedu, Norra, Poola, Prantsusmaa, Rootsi, Saksamaa, Slovakkia, Sloveenia, Taani, Tšehhi Vabariik, Ungari ja Ühendkuningriik).

Nelja võiduprojekti ootab maikuus auhinnareis eTwinningi laagrisse.
