The G20 Summit, under the German Presidency, takes place in Hamburg. The European Union will be represented by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and European Council President Donald Tusk. G20 Leaders are expected to focus their discussions on harnessing globalisation, economic growth, tax transparency, the stability of the financial system, climate action, terrorism, migration and the G20 partnership with Africa.
As one of the world's largest economic areas, the EU has a seat at the table of the G20, where it represents Member States' interests in its areas of competence, such as trade, climate, migration and economic policies.
The G20 Leaders' Summit takes place on 7-8 July. A joint press conference of President Juncker and President Tusk is currently planned at 9.00am on 7 July, ahead of the first day of the Summit. Press arrangements will be confirmed closer to the date of the Summit.
