The European Commission will be represented by several Members of the College at the 2016 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which takes place from 20 to 23 January under the motto “Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos is a key global event committed to “improving the state of the world” (the motto of the Forum). The meeting brings together more than 2.500 world leaders, politicians, top business and opinion leaders and media representatives to exchange ideas and discuss critical topics in hundreds of official sessions. At global level, the European Union is a driving force for economic recovery and political stability. It inspires ambitious responses to common challenges in numerous fields. For the Commission the forum is a key event to set out and promote the EU’s priorities and strategies like enhancing investment, growth and jobs; climate action; Energy Union; Digital Single Market; Capital Markets Union; research and innovation; management of the refugee crisis, etc.
