Stop overfishing: MEPs vote for ambitious reform

A major reform of the EU's Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) which aims to cut fishing to sustainable stock levels, end dumping at sea, and base long-term planning on sound scientific data, was approved by Parliament.

Parliament backs law to tone down harmful traffic noise

Noise limits for cars would be tightened to protect public health, under a draft law voted in Parliament. MEPs also recommended introducing labels to inform consumers about new cars' noise levels and adding sound to hybrid and electric vehicles to alert pedestrians.

European Commission strengthens the protection of the euro by means of criminal law

The European Commission has proposed to crack down on criminals who counterfeit euro notes and coins. Counterfeiting of the euro is estimated to have cost at least €500 million since the currency was introduced in 2002.

Road Transport: New European Driving Licence

Management of fisheries in the Baltic Sea for 2013 in place

Six Member States have exceeded their milk quota
