Commissioner László Andor and DG EMPL will host a two-day conference in Brussels on 18-19 September to discuss the state of play and the way forward in the area of labour economics.

The long financial and economic crisis has had a strong impact on labour markets and employment policy in Europe.

What needs to be learned and discussed in the area of labour economics? How can academic experts and advisers continue to help the EU in designing and implementing the right policies in the area of employment? The conference will  bring together theoreticians, experts, analysts, advisers, and policy makers to discuss these questions.

Participation is by invitation only.
