The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) is a tripartite European Union Agency, whose role is to provide knowledge in the area of social and work-related policies. Eurofound was established in 1975 in order to contribute to the planning of better living and working conditions in Europe, through information, advice and expertise. Eurofound's activities are addressed mainly to the key actors in the field of EU social policy on the basis of comparative information, research and analysis.
In cooperation with the EU Presidency of Greece and the Ministry of Labour, Eurofound is organising a high level conference under the title “Social Dialogue as a driver in shaping and improving employment and working conditions in the EU” on 23rd of June at Zappeion Hall, Athens. The conference will bring together around 100 participants made up of social partners at EU and national level, member-state officials, international organisations, experts and members of the academic world. It will be an opportunity to draw lessons from the crisis and look to the future of social dialogue and its impact on employment and working conditions in the EU.
