This conference is jointly organised by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the European Commission's Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN).

 

The conference will bring together US- and Europe-based policy makers, regulators, market analysts and academics. Conference participants will evaluate the prospects for sustainable economic growth and financial stability, and discuss challenges to transatlantic economic relations posed by the recent episodes of the economic crisis. The talks will be structured around three interactive panel sessions as follows:

  • Panel 1: Transatlantic macro-financial linkages;
  • Panel 2: Macroeconomic developments and policy challenges;
  • Panel 3: Transatlantic dimensions of financial reform.

 

Olli Rehn, Vice-president of the European Commission in charge of Economic and monetary affairs, will be participating in the event.
