Foreign Affairs Council

The Council, chaired by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton, will discuss the situation in the EU's southern neighbourhood, in particular in Syria and Egypt, and will prepare the forthcoming European Council debate on the Arab Spring. The Council will also examine developments regarding the Middle East Peace Process.

 

The Council may also adopt conclusions on Somalia/Horn of Africa.

 

Furthermore, the Council is expected to take stock of relations with the United States of America. It will also discuss the EU Arctic policy.

 

A presidency briefing, agenda and background note will be published on the Council website closer to the date of the meeting.
