Post-trade harmonisation efforts are seen by market participants as a decisive factor for financial integration in Europe. Harmonisation increases safety and efficiency.

This conference is co-organised by the European Commission and the European Central Bank, it will:

• highlight the link between the Commission initiatives and those of the European Central Bank;
• foster implementation of harmonisation measures in national markets;
• demonstrate the determination of the Eurosystem and the EU Commission to foster financial integration in spite of the financial crisis.
