When: 03/06/2013 - 07/06/2013
Where: Bella center, Copenhagen, Denmark
Topic: Science and technology

To counter the increasing dependence on imported energy sources, the European Union (EU) has decided to move towards more sustainable options, which should also help it in meet the 20% renewable energy target by 2020. Biomass is one of these options. It can either be used directly or converted into other energy products such as biofuel, making it an interesting alternative to fossil fuel.

However, some challenges still need to be met. They include finding solutions to overcome the competition between the different methods of utilisation, identifying conversion paths with the highest degree of sustainability and bringing bioenergy concepts together with other renewable energies.

The conference provides a forum for researchers, industry and markets to exchange information on the present state of things and future opportunities.
