The Ministers of Education of the EU Member States and of candidate countries will participate in this Informal Meeting of Education Ministers.
The Ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views and good practices on the role of education and training regarding the economical development of the European countries and the personal welfare of the European citizens. The issue of literacy will also be explored during the meeting. Many young people in Europe lack basic literacy skills, a fact which hinders their employability and may lead to social exclusion.
