The Agriculture and Fisheries Council of 18 June will focus on the reform of the common agricultural policy (CAP). Ministers will take note of a progress report from the Presidency setting out the state of play regarding several legislative proposals for regulations:

  • on direct payments to farmers;
  • on the common organisation of the markets in agricultural products ;
  • on the financing and management of the CAP;
  • on support for rural development;
  • on fixing certain aids and refunds;
  • on the application of transitional measures in respect of the year 2013;
  • on certain agricultural products as regards the regime of the single payment scheme and support to vine-growers.

 

The presidency will hold a press briefing in the Council press room in Brussels on 13 June at 14.00. A press conference will take place at the end of the meeting.

 

Presidency briefing, agenda and background note will be published on the Council website closer to the date of the meeting.
