Ministers in charge of Employment, Social protection, Consumer protection, Health and Equal opportunities will meet on 21 and 22 June.

 

On 21 June, ministers will focus on employment and social policy issues. The following topics will notably be on the agenda:

  • the European Semester;
  • the posting of workers directive;
  • the right to collective action;
  • the EU programme for social change and innovation;
  • pensions adequacy;
  • responding to demographic challenges through enhanced participation in the labour market and society by all;
  • gender equality and the environment.

 

On 22 June, the Council will focus on the following health issues:

  • the multi-annual "Public Health Programme" covering the period 2014-2020;
  • serious cross-border threats to health;
  • the impact of antimicrobial resistance in the human health sector and in the veterinary sector .

 

The presidency will hold a briefing in the Council press room, in Brussels, on 19 June at 14.30 (tbc). A press conference will take place at the end of the session.

 

Presidency briefing, agenda and background note will be published on the Council website closer to the date of the meeting.
