EU position (CFSP)

This legal instrument is provided by Title V of the Treaty of the European Union regarding the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). It enables the Council to define the EU position on a specific issue of a geographic or thematic nature. Member States are required to ensure their national policies conform to the positions set by the EU. These are adopted unanimously by the Council.
