International dimension and enlargement


By their very nature, business operations involve exchanges with external partners. Access to markets and cooperation with third countries are therefore decisive factors for the competitiveness of European businesses. Furthermore, the establishment of an environment favourable to business growth is a challenge not only for the European Union (EU) but also for all the EU's partners around the world.
For the candidate countries, compliance with the Community acquis concerning industrial and enterprise policy is an essential part of the process of achieving accession to the EU
