    Inside the European Parliament (entry at the rue Wiertz) you can see the political groups at work, and the services of the EP. You can assist in debates with MEP's and information sessions. Outside, on the Mall, there is lively animation, also for children. You can stroll along many stands and in the Village of the Volunteers. Or listen to a concert and above all participate in our Giant Euro-Karaoke.

    The Council of the European Union and the European Council invite you to the Open Day on Saturday 7 May 2011.

    Visitors can enjoy the exhibition on Hungary, which currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This country will present its folk music and dances, (you will be invited to join in) and will also treat you to some of its culinary specialties. You are also invited to walk through various information stands, including those on European innovation, space research, and energy. You will have the opportunity/possibility to see a large scale model of Solar Impulse, the zero fuel plane, and the first solar airplane to come close to perpetual flight… During the guided tour, every visitor also gets the unique opportunity to view the rooms in which the heads of state and government and ministers of the 27 EU member states meet during the summits and Council meetings.

    The event will take place in the Justus Lipsius building, rue de la Loi 175, in Brussels from 10am until 6pm.

    Commission rocks!

     
    On May 7, 2011, the Berlaymont - the flagship building of the European Commission - opens its doors from 10 am to 6 pm.
     
    Find out concrete achievements of the Union for citizens: the best ways to use energy, youth mobility, technological innovation, struggle against counterfeit products, consumer protection... All accompanied by fun activities. You will have the opportunity to be an interpreter/translator for a day and to participate in various quizzes with small gifts for the winners. And on the esplanade of the Berlaymont, activities for young and old.

    During its open day on 7 May 2011, the European Economic and Social Committee invites you to discover the energy sources of the future by facing the challenge of its explorer trail. At each stage, be amazed, glean information, collect points and make it a day to remember!

    You will also be able to chat with members of the Committee, meet non-governmental organisations who will be attending as part of the European Year of Volunteering, and enjoy our fun activities for all the family.

    The Committee of the Regions invites you to experience a festival of Europe´s regions and cities in the Jacques Delors Building (rue Belliard 99-101, 1040 Brussels). Visitors will be offered a taste of local food and drinks, as well as information about tourism, culture, education and investment opportunities. Interactive games, music and dance performances as well as puppet theatre await you.
