The National Closing Conference of the European Year 2012 in Lithuania took place in Vilnius on December 17th, organised by the Ministry of Social Security and Labour. The Director of Family and Communities Department of the Ministry, Jolanta Zabietienė, opened the event welcoming participants and inviting them to participate and interact in the scheduled debate about solidarity and interrelations between generations.

Jointly organised by the Government Office of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the conference invited participants to debate about solidarity and dialogue between generations.

More than 100 participants attended the ceremony, including representatives of the Welfare Ministry, senior NGOs, authorities, journalists and member of institutions involved in the EY2012.

Organised by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, the event was hosted by the national Coordinator of the EY2012, Professor Anneli Leppanen, and the Secretary of the Year, Marjo Wallin.
