Austria leads the way launching a Federal plan for seniors

The Senior Citizens Council (Seniorenrat) and the Austrian Interdisciplinary Platform on Ageing (ÖPIA) organised on May 29th in Vienna an all-day symposium in the Parliament devoted to the Seniorenplan, a recently completed Federal plan on the social integration and quality of life of senior citizens in Austria.

Harvard study supports that physical activity of older people decreases risk of cardiovascular disease

A study that fills the knowledge gap of the relationship between physical activity and cardiovascular disease amongst the elderly was presented recently at the American Heart Association’s EPI | NPAM 2012 conference in San Diego by a group of international researchers working at the Harvard School of Public Health.
