Media from all over Europe convene at EY 2012 Journalists’ Conference

How are the European media reporting on ageing and intergenerational solidarity? Which issues are of particular interest to journalists, how can they inform themselves about these and what are the media’s burning questions for experts and policy makers?

These questions were at the focal point of the two-day Journalists' Conference on the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations which was held on March 19th-20th in Brussels.

Over 80 journalists, experts and EC officials from 22 Member States engaged in an open, interactive and informative dialogue on the potential and the possibilities of active ageing, across different topics, both at a pan-European and local level.

The conference agenda featured presentations on demographic developments in Europe and workshops with high-level experts covering topics such as work and pensions, dependency and care, politics and society as well as science, technology and innovation. László Andor, EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, also took to the stage for a lively Q&A session with participants.

Pictures of the conference are available here.
