Opening of European Year for Active Ageing in Sweden

The European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations was launched in Stockholm on February 8th during the first day of the "Seniorliv I världsklass" (Senior life world-class) conference and exhibition in Kista.

The ministers of Children and the Elderly, Maria Larsson, and of Culture, Lena Adelsson Liljeroth, explained the initiatives and objectives of the European Year 2012.

Stefan Forsberg, Head of Stockholm Concert Hall; Charlotte Haentzel, Head of Corporate Communications European Commission in Sweden, and Sarah Wamala, Director General, of National Institute of Public Health, also participated in the opening ceremony.

Exhibitors, policy-makers, public and private sectors and civil organizations met in "Seniorliv I världsklass".and took the opportunity to shape and discuss the future of senior’s life in Sweden. Approximately 3,000 people attended the conference and exhibition.
